The German-Chinese Economic Conference 2023 took place from November 6th to 7th and has evolved over the years into one of the most significant conferences on economic exchange between Germany and China.

Matthias Steffen presented FUSE-AI during the 'Flashlights Innovation & Start-Ups' s panel. Well-known companies such as Merck, Bosch, Allianz, and Price Waterhouse Coopers took part, as well as representatives from institutions and universities of both countries.

This year's conference, after the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, provided the first opportunity for intensive in-person exchange. Simultaneously, it also offered the option for speakers from China to participate online. Experts and decision-makers from the fields of business, science, politics, technology, culture, and other sectors presented their insights, analyzed developments, and exchanged experiences.

The opening speech was delivered by Mr. Rudolf Scharping, the former Federal Minister of Defense and CEO of RSBK AG. Following that, Mr. Yezhou Guo, Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Mr. Ken Wu, the current Chinese Ambassador to Germany, shared their views on the status and prospects of economic cooperation between China and Germany.

In the subsequent speeches and discussion rounds, numerous current and relevant topics concerning cooperation between China and Germany were discussed:

  • What best practices and lessons have been learned in the past?

  • What will be the path of medium- and long-term cooperation in the future?

  • What role does artificial intelligence play in electromobility and healthcare?

  • How can China and Germany learn from each other and jointly drive innovation?

The atmosphere during the conference was positive and encouraging. All participants were very interested and actively engaged in the discussions.

The conference's message is clear: There is still significant potential for collaboration between China and Germany. In a time marked by uncertainties, maintaining stable relationships is of great importance. Together, we can shape the future and find innovative solutions to tomorrow's challenges.
