FUSE-AI joins the IHE
The Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise ("IHE") is an initiative by healthcare professionals and industry to improve the way computer systems in healthcare share information. IHE develops guidelines and supports a testing process and other activities to encourage the implementation of standards to enable communication among such systems. FUSE-AI has joined this initiative.
The IHE Plugathon AI Radiology Track from June 3-7 in Trieste, 2024 was an event for test implementation of AI supported workflows using the systems of the participating vendors, as agreed on by the participants of the Plugathon planning meetings.
The knowledge gained from these test implementations will be directly feed into the standardization process for creating new IHE integration profiles and/ or modifying existing profiles or other underlying standards, e.g. DICOM, HL7.
The one purpose of the test implementation process is to show how a real-world clinical workflow, integrating AI tools in the radiological reporting workflow can be achieved. The other is to find out what is additionally necessary to standardize or to be changed in the existing integration profiles or underlying standards.
